BI xPress Reporting Performance Monitor

BI xPress now makes monitoring and troubleshooting of SSRS reports easier by adding the Reporting Performance Monitor. The Reporting Performance Monitor will display critical performance statistics related to SSRS reports, including:

Feature Highlights

A high level overview of a report server
Displays stats such as average runtime, average processing time, number of executions, amount of data transferred, and memory usage
Shows the percentage of runtime that is consumed by processing a report

Launch the BI xPress console from the Windows start menu.

On the far right is the ‘Reporting Console’ icon. Clicking this icon will open the console.

Provide connection information for the report server.

Once connected, the performance monitor will display four different reports. Each report can be maximized for better viewing.

Report Averages

This report will show a number of statistics about the reports running on your server, including its name, status, and average runtime. Runtime is then broken down into data retrieval, processing, and rendering times. Times exceding user-configured threshholds will be highlighted to indicate which reports are struggling.

Click the options icon in the upper right corner to adjust report threshholds.

Here, users can customize the runtime percentage for errors and warnings among other settings.
