Who doesn’t want to get something for free, right? How about learning Azure for free? There’s so much to learn if you’re starting out with Azure. There are tons of options out there, but today I’d like to highlight 4 great free places that we typically go to ourselves and recommend to our customers.
1. Docs.microsoft.com – This on-line repository is Microsoft’s documentation library. Here you’ll find architecture, diagrams and patterns, as well as tutorials, communities and forums. Everything you could want or need in a very well-organized platform. It’s the #1 place we go to and it’s absolutely free.
2. Microsoft’s Conferences – Sure, the conferences themselves are not free. These are very popular, sell-out events filled with lots of great info and speakers. They also can be expensive. But here’s the free part; right after those events, most, if not all, of that great content becomes available on their YouTube channel. Just go to YouTube and search for things like Microsoft Ignite or Microsoft Build or Connect and take advantage of access to all the content from their flagship events.
3. Microsoft Virtual Academy – If you’re more into an instructor-led, slower paced, methodical approach to learning about Azure, this great free resource offers more structured training classes. They are always publishing new content there and you can subscribe for updates.
4. Last but not least, Pragmatic Works free training. Our free webinars that are hosted every Tuesday at 11:00 am EST cover a huge amount of Azure content. And all of our previous videos are available online for free, so you can view any of our Azure webinars (as well as our BI, SQL Server and other topics that relate to your data) from the past 10 years.
These are just a few ways you can learn Azure for free. So, get out there, get educated and get on board with Azure. If you have questions or need help getting started with Azure, or any help along the way, contact us – we’re always here to help.
