Introduction to Azure Data Factory Data Flows

Written by Pragmatic Works | Jun 12, 2020

Do you want to learn the basics of developing Mapping and Wrangling Data Flows in Azure Data Factory (ADF)? In a recent webinar, Sr. BI Consultant, Andie Letourneau, teaches you about managing and maintaining server cluster or writing complex code to build pipelines.

The presentation begins with discussing the differences and the relationship between data flows and pipelines in ADF. Andie will introduce you to two kinds of data flows in Azure Data Factory - wrangling data flows and mapping data flows. She’ll also discuss why you would choose one over the other.

The webinar will cover the similarities and differences between these two types of data flows and what they are best used for. Wrangling data flows are best for preparing and exploring the data and are focused on the data itself. Mapping data flows are best for transforming the data and are focused on the data flow. You’ll also learn how to combine them for the best of both worlds.

A lot of time is spent on a demo of how to create these data flows. So, if you’re looking to learn the basics of mapping and wrangling data flows, this webinar is for you. You can watch the complete webinar below. To view the presenter’s slides, click here.
