Written by Jonathon Silva | Oct 14, 2021

Welcome to the latest Power BI Monthly Digest, where Pragmatic Works trainer Jonathon Silva looks at the latest additions to the ever-evolving Power BI platform.

In the October 2021 edition, there are a couple of features that Jonathon wants to highlight for you. First, Jonathon showcases the new heat map layer available in the Azure Maps, which helps visualize comparative data while interacting with multiple layers.

Furthermore, Jonathon discusses the new tenant-level switch feature coming to all Bing maps. This feature will be disabled for new tenants by default and needs to be enabled manually.

Jonathon then details the performance optimization of the SWITCH function in DAX and provides a quick recap of some possible use cases. This function can be used when a single function has many values, or the values contain measure references.

Lastly, Jonathon covers the new Power BI app update within Teams, which is coming in November of this year.

Watch the video to see walkthroughs and step-by-steps of each new feature, plus hear insights from Jonathon. Let us know what you think about the latest additions in the comments below.
