Pragmatic Works Acquires Data Firm for Undisclosed Millions

Written by Devon Stiles | Apr 01, 2016

On April 1, 2016, Pragmatic Works completed an acquisition of an industry leading Data Analytics organization for an undisclosed sum. The company plans on expanding its foothold and bringing their services to new clients in the Central Asia region.

Before being acquired by Pragmatic Works, Kazakstan Data Analytics was originally developed for owner, Mukhtar Rakov, to track his herd of goats and their migratory patterns in the Altai Mountains of Kazakstan. The project spiraled into a full fledged effort to develop the data capabilities for nomadic businesses throughout the region.

“The mission of Pragmatic Works and the mission of Kazakstan Data Analytics are highly aligned. Both companies seek to help empower businesses through data,” said Adam Jorgensen, President of Pragmatic Works Consulting. "We have great admiration for how Mr. Rakov has leveraged his herd through data and shared that insight throughout his country."
