Introduction to SSAS Tabular Course Updates

Written by Pragmatic Works | Feb 03, 2017

Do you want to learn more about creating Analysis Services Tabular models? Our course, Introduction to SSAS Tabular, will teach you all you need to know!

This course is an end to end view of how to build your own models using Tabular. We’ve updated our course, previously titled Tabular and Power Pivot for Developers,  for SQL Server 2016.

We’ll start with the basics of what Analysis Services Tabular is and point out the key features that show you why you would want to use it over other technologies. Then we’ll dive right into development, teaching you how to use your data to build a model for yourself and start to use Tabular to enhance what you can do on top of your data warehouse. Our presenter will walk you through how to write some of the query language primarily used in Tabular (DAX), so you can learn to build calculations on top of your model. Security is important to you, right? We’ll also cover more advanced features in Tabular and demo the steps to apply security to your model, as well as how to handle more of the complex features within Tabular.

By the end of this course you'll be able to develop and build your own Tabular models.  Watch our short video here to learn more about this course from our Training Director, Devin Knight.
