Learn how to secure your Power Pages sites with web roles, authentication, permissions, column-level security, and the Web Application Firewall to protect your data and your users.
Power Pages Security shows you how to protect your Power Pages sites and the data behind them. Instructor Andrew Perez starts with an overview of how security works in Power Pages, then explains how web roles and authentication control who can sign in and what each type of user can reach. From there, you’ll learn how to set up permissions that control which records users can view, create, edit, or delete. You’ll then go a level deeper by securing data down to individual columns, and you’ll learn how the Web Application Firewall helps protect your site from common web attacks. By the end, you’ll know how to build Power Pages sites that give the right people access to the right data, and keep everyone else out.

Module 01 - Introduction
Andrew Perez introduces the course and explains why security matters for Power Pages sites, which often expose business data to people outside your organization. He gives an overview of the layers of security covered in the course, from controlling who can sign in to protecting individual columns and the site itself. By the end of this module, you’ll understand how the pieces fit together and what you’ll learn in each module.
Module 02 - Web Roles and Authentication14 min.
Security starts with knowing who your users are. In this module, you’ll learn how authentication lets visitors sign in to your site and how web roles group users so you can give each group the right level of access. You’ll also see how anonymous and authenticated users are treated differently, giving you the foundation for every permission you set up later in the course.
Module 03 - Permissions18 min.
Learn how to control what users can do with the data on your site. Andrew shows you how to set up permissions that determine which records each web role can read, create, update, or delete. You’ll also see how permissions are scoped so users only see the records that apply to them. By the end of this module, you’ll be able to give each group of users exactly the access they need.
Module 04 - Column Security Profiles and Web Application Firewall10 min.
This module covers two more layers of protection. First, you’ll learn how to secure data at the column level, so sensitive fields stay hidden or read-only even when a user can access the rest of a record. Then you’ll learn how the Web Application Firewall (WAF) protects your site from common web attacks and malicious traffic, and how to turn it on and configure it. Together, these tools add security beyond roles and permissions.
Module 05 - Conclusion1 min.
Andrew recaps the key ideas from the course, from web roles and authentication to permissions, column-level security, and the Web Application Firewall. He also points you to next steps so you can keep strengthening security on your Power Pages sites.
