Administration of SQL Server can often be as simple as query tuning a T-SQL statement or configuring a server properly. When a Business Intelligence developer gets a hold of other ‘cool’ features provided in Standard or Enterprise Edition of SQL Server, then the range of knowledge a DBA has needs to keep up with developers.
If you’re a DBA or developer whose job focusing around what needs to be done to administer Business Intelligence enterprise solutions and you need to increase your range of knowledge, then our new course, Administering Business Intelligence is for you.
In this course, we’ll cover SSIS, SSAS and SSRS, as well as Master Data Services and Data Quality Services and the components that are required to be able to administrate those features inside of SQL Server. Within these topics, we’ll dig into areas such as how to apply security, how to monitor SSIS packages, how to monitor analysis services usage and critically important questions such as how to do security inside of analysis services.
We will tie together some things that you may know as a developer but haven’t really thought about as an administrator. For those of you that are in a DBA role, you’ll get deep into the BI side and start to think about things you haven’t thought about like memory configuration on analysis server.
The designer of this course is Thomas LeBlanc, a BI architect and Microsoft MVP with years of experience doing financial modeling, as well as a lot on the DBA side. If you want to better understand what is needed to help debug and maintain the features used in their enterprise IT systems, this course is for you.
