Announcing Our Introduction to Azure Data Factory Course
As everyone knows, Microsoft Azure is taking the world by storm. We are extremely excited to introduce our newest course, Introduction to Azure Data Factory! In this post, I’ll tell you about this new offering and the 5 reasons why you should be excited about it too.
#1 Who is this class designed for?
As the world, and probably your company, is migrating to working with Azure or other cloud offerings, you need to get more familiar with the ability to move that data in the most efficient way possible using the cloud. One of the best tools to do that is Azure Data Factory. This course is designed for anyone who comes from an ETL background, working with ETL tools like SSIS but if you’re interested in learning about this great Azure tool, then this course if for you.
#2 What skills are needed for this class?
There are no prior skills needed as this is an introductory class. A bit of a background in basic ETL processes will help and assist you through the class, but if you don’t have that, it’s ok, we’ll walk you through end to end from how to build the different Azure resources you need, how to provision Azure Data Factory and to use that to build dynamic pipelines.
#3 Why is it important to learn about Azure Data Factory?
Let’s face it, the world is changing, as well the way we store data, with more and more businesses storing their data in the cloud. As the data moves to the cloud, the best way to interact with that data and move it between the resources we have available is by learning to use a tool like Azure Data Factory. So, as the world of data evolves, you can evolve right along with it.
#4 What does this course offer that you can’t find anywhere else?
In this age of technology and information, it’s easy to find many sources to learn about Azure Data Factory, but you’ll get a lot of piecemeal information that’s hard to put together in a coherent way. As with all our courses, we dive deep into our topics and you’ll learn Azure Data Factory from end-to-end.
Right from the start you’ll understand things like, why do I want to use Azure Data Factory; how do I set it up and provision it; and how do I build the pipelines necessary to move the data from the source to destination. Learning all you need end to end is much more beneficial than learning piece by piece through different sources.
#5 What are the key takeaways from this course?
Upon completion, you’ll feel comfortable building pipelines in Azure Data Factory, working with different resources in Azure and using Azure Data Factory to move your data around. And although this is an introduction to Azure Data Factory, we’ll also show you how to use SSIS to interact with those resources. We’ll show you how to download and use the Azure Feature Pack for Integration Services, and then use that to move data around in Azure, as well as to do a SSIS lift and shift, which will give you the best of both worlds.
So, if you’re ready to move to Microsoft Azure, this course will get you started with the best tool for your migration. You’ll learn all you need to know about Azure Data Factory at your own pace, and on any device.
