Saving Power Apps User Preferences Across Sessions

Saving Power Apps User Preferences Across Sessions

powerappslogoDo you want to learn how to save user preferences, like the colors they want or hiding a tutorial screen across sessions in Power Apps? I’ll show you how in this video, as well as how to build a tutorial for your users to show them how to use your app. This way, your users can get the experience they want in your application.

We can share this data in SharePoint or in a table.  In my demo, I’ll use a table because of its scalability. I’ll take you step by step through the process of adding global variables that will work across screens for preferences we want saved. And also how to create a button with a variable that will allow your users to skip any tutorials you may add in and have it automatically do so in the future after they’ve hit skip the first time.

I’ll show you two ways to save the settings we create; we can create a form and hide it, or we can use a flow inside the Power Platform to write back the database. Watch my video below called Saving Power Apps User Preferences for a guided demo through saving user preferences.
