Course Description

Microsoft Power Platform is a suite of tools that enables anyone to create powerful applications, automate workflows, analyze data, and build chatbots with low or no code. In this class, you will learn the fundamentals of Power Platform and how to use it in your teaching and learning scenarios. You will explore Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI. You will also discover how to integrate Power Platform with other Microsoft products, such as Microsoft 365, Excel, and SharePoint. By the end of this class, you will be able to create your own low-code solutions and enhance your classroom experience.

Matt Peterson is a Trainer for Pragmatic Works specializing in the Power Platform. He graduated from the University of North Florida in 2006 and comes with 15 years of teaching experience in high school algebra. Matt earned the accomplishment in 2013 of being named the Florida Gifted Teacher of The Year. His primary focus is helping our customers learn the ins and outs of Power Apps and Power BI.

System Requirements

For this class, we will be creating flows and apps in the Power Platform. A Power Apps/Power Automate license will be needed. If you do not have one during the first video we will walk through how to sign up for a trial license. We will also be using the Power BI desktop application. If you do not have this program installed on your computer in the first video we will walk through how to get the program installed.

What to know before class

For this class, you do not need to know anything about the Power Platform. We will be covering basic functionality and real world scenarios that you can create and use in your classroom after watching the guided instruction. This class is also great for anyone new to the Power Plaform, you do not have to be an educator.
