Power Automate and HubSpot Integration Series (Part 4)

Power Automate and HubSpot Integration Series (Part 4)

Introduction:

Welcome back to the latest installment of our series on integrating HubSpot and Power Automate. In previous episodes, we delved into connecting these two tools through private apps and APIs. Today, we're exploring yet another method—leveraging HubSpot's built-in workflows to run Power Automate flows seamlessly.

HubSpot Workflows Overview:

  • HubSpot workflows are a powerful tool for automating processes within the platform.
  • They allow users to create sequences of actions triggered by specific events or schedules.

Creating a HubSpot Workflow:

  • Devin, currently inside HubSpot, demonstrates the process of creating a new workflow from scratch.
  • The trigger for the workflow can be event-based or scheduled, but the focus is on showcasing the integration with Power Automate.

Power Automate Setup:

  • In Power Automate, the speaker creates a new flow from scratch, opting for an instant flow.
  • They choose the "When an HTTP request is received" trigger, a premium connector option requiring Power Automate premium.

Setting Up the HTTP Trigger:

  1. Devin explains the necessity of a trigger and adds the "When an HTTP request is received" action.
  2. They allow anyone to run the trigger to accommodate various users, including marketing users.
  3. After saving the flow, an HTTP post URL becomes available, serving as a webhook into Power Automate.

Connecting HubSpot and Power Automate:

  1. The URL from Power Automate is copied.
  2. Returning to HubSpot, the speaker adds a new step to the workflow, selecting the "Send a webhook" action.
  3. They paste the copied URL into the webhook configuration, allowing HubSpot to trigger the Power Automate flow.

Enhancing Power Automate Workflow:

  • Devin emphasizes the flexibility of this integration, enabling users to bring in data from HubSpot into Power Automate for further processing.
  • They add a basic compose action as a placeholder, demonstrating the necessity of at least one action beyond the trigger.

Final Steps:

  1. The HubSpot workflow is reviewed and published, ensuring it is ready to trigger the Power Automate flow.
  2. The Power Automate flow, now linked to HubSpot, will only execute when triggered by the webhook from HubSpot.

Benefits and Applications:

  • This integration opens up a myriad of possibilities for users, allowing them to leverage Power Automate's capabilities within HubSpot workflows.
  • Users can run Power Automate flows from HubSpot, enabling tasks that may go beyond the native capabilities of HubSpot alone.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, the integration of HubSpot and Power Automate continues to unveil new possibilities. By incorporating HubSpot workflows to trigger Power Automate flows, users can seamlessly blend the strengths of these two platforms. The demonstrated method adds versatility to HubSpot's automation capabilities, providing users with a powerful combination of tools. Stay tuned for more insights into optimizing your workflow with HubSpot and Power Automate.
