Josh is a Business Intelligence Consultant with Pragmatic Works. He has been working with SQL Server for almost ten years. He speaks at multiple IT events every year, including SQL Saturdays and Code on the Beach. He is also a member of the Business Intelligence and Big Data Virtual Chapters of PASS, the Professional Association of SQL Server. Josh lives in Orlando, FL where he is a member of OPASS, or Orlando’s local PASS chapter.

 

System Requirements

  • PowerShell 4.0
  • Azure PowerShell cmdlets
  • Access to Microsoft Hyper-V (or other virtualization host) to create Virtual Machines. Hyper-V is available for free with Windows 8 and higher
  • Excel 2013 add-ins for Power Pivot and Power Query

What to Know Before Class

No previous SQL experience is necessary. A basic understanding of Linux and PowerShell is needed to understand the Deployments section. A basic knowledge of Excel, Power Pivot and Power Query will be helpful for the Data Presentation section.
